About Dale Yarmuth

Dale Yarmuth Dale was born and raised in the mid-western automotive town of Saginaw, Michigan.
He attended college at Ferris State University, majoring in Commercial Art with a minor in Marketing. He has been an artist for over 30 years, primarily using the medium of Pen & Ink and watercolor.

His work career started at a small printer where he was their staff artist. Dale later went on to work for a medium-size Michigan advertising agency as an artist. In 1969 Dale joined a nation-wide lumber and building supply retailer and was responsible for designing retail marketing elements and developing national consumer contests; ending up managing the production portion of the Advertising/Marketing Department. In 1994, Dale accepted a job as General Manager of an Advertising Agency in the Chicago suburbs.

In 1995 Dale started with Sears Roebuck, & Co. as Marketing Manager for the Sears Hardware stores. Dale was transferred to the San Jose office; he relocated to Hollister and was promoted to various positions during the 10 years of his employment. Prior to leaving, he was Director, Business Marketing for the Sears and Orchard Hardware Stores. In 2005 he assisted in opening up the first Domestic Violence shelter in Hollister, (Emmaus House) and was named its Executive Director.

Dale is the father of 3 children, 1 boy & 2 girls. Dale has served as president of the board of directors for Pet Friends, a local “no kill” rescue and adoption shelter in Hollister. He was a member of the county’s Community Action Board (CAB). He was also in Leadership San Benito class of 2008. Dale is a Watercolor/Acrylic and Pen & Ink Artist and a member of the Hollister Art League as well as the San Benito County Arts Council. He has won numerous awards for his paintings entered into the San Benito County Fair, including “Best of Show” for his Watercolor/Pen & Ink of Lilies and The Bodie Church. His paintings have been on display in local art galleries and public buildings. He has taught Pen & Ink with Watercolor for adult education at Gavilan Community College and is presently holding art classes in his home in Hollister.

Presently Dale is a Board Member of the Seniors Council helping to protect the rights and programs of our senior citizens.
